General Comments: 

About the resort:
It has a curio shop called Ella's Curio Shop, The Fighting Trout Bar, a full entertainment programme and various other facilities including mountain bikes, a games room with pool tables and video games, a gym, a jungle gym and swings, two bowling greens, volleyball court and a pitch n putt nine hole. There is a lake for flyfishing, boat cruises or tubby boats and rowing boats. Horse and pony rides are available at the stables.

Attractions:
Guided and unguided hikes can be arranged. Visit Rehoboth Clinic, take helicopter rides or play paintball.

Drakensberg apartments are only fitted with airconditioners. No heaters are available in the unit.

Weeks 47, 48 and 49 are student dates. No under 21's will be allowed to check in/stay without an adult present at all times. The resort is very strict and those that do not adhere will be denied occupation.

Electricity is metered and charged for accordingly in the chalets.

From Durban:
Take the N3 towards Johannesburg. Approximately 36km after the Mooi River Toll plaza, take the Estcourt North (sign board 179) turn-off, and turn left at the top. Follow this road through Loskop for approximately 31km where you will reach a signboard R600 Drakensberg World Heritage Site (Central), turn left pass "Thokozisa". Continue straight for approximately 12 km, past Champagne Sports, until you see the signboard for Drakensberg Sun to your right - this road will lead you directly to the hotel.

From King Shaka International Airport:
Turn onto the N2 in a Southerly direction (towards Durban), and continue along the N2 until you get to a major (spaghetti) inter-change where you can ramp off onto the N3 in a Westerly direction, heading towards Pietermaritzburg. Thereafter follow directions from Durban.

Alternatively, from Johannesburg:
follow the N3 from JHB towards Durban, this will take you past Harrismith, through the Van Reenen’s Pass and to the Tugela Toll Plaza. Continue through the plaza, then exit onto road no. 230 / R616 Bergville, at the top turn left towards Ladysmith. Travel for approximately 5 minutes, then turn right onto the R600 Winterton. Travel for approximately 30 km until you get to a t-junction then turn left over the bridge, take the first turn to your right onto the R600 Central Drakensberg (you will cross a railway line). Travel for approximately 30 km – just after you passed Champagne Sports Resort on your left hand side you will see a Drakensberg Sun signboard, take this turning to your right, this road will lead you directly to the hotel.
