About the resort:
Riverbend Chalets is on the same property as Drakensberg Gardens and most facilities are at the hotel. This resort lies in the heart of the Drakensberg and offers a range of activities, such as scenic walks with amazing views or a round of golf.

Unit Information:
The chalets at the resort are all fully self-catering. Detergents are not provided.

Extra facilities:
Additional facilities include a games room, hiking trails, a lake, a playground, bowling, volleyball, badminton, adventure golf and an animal farm. Free pony rides are also available. There is a superette and bottle store on the property. There are 3 restaurants and a wellness centre on the property.

Regret no pets allowed at the resort. Certain facilities are charged for, please contact the resort for further information. Please note that check-in is strictly at 15h00, no guest will be allowed to check-in prior to this time. No four wheelers are permitted on the property.

Please be advised that the resort is in the process of building new units and ongoing renovations up to 2011. The work will be done with minimum incovenience to guests.

South Africans need a passport to drive the full Sani Pass route even if they have no intentions of travelling into Lesotho (the pass is still within the boundaries of South Africa).

From O.R. Tambo International Airport:
Take the N3 highway towards Pietermaritzburg. Just after Howick, turn left at the Howick South/Underberg - Exit 99 offramp. Follow the signs to Bulwer on the R617 and continue through Bulwer to Underberg. Turn off towards Drakensberg Resorts approximately 4 km after Underberg. Riverbend Chalets is at the end of this road. The trip should take you more or less 6hrs - 670km.

From Durban International Airport:
Take the N3 highway past Pietermaritzburg. Just before Howick, take the off ramp to the left marked Howick South/Underberg - Exit 99. Follow the signs to Bulwer on the R617 and continue through Bulwer to Underberg. Turn off towards Drakensberg Resorts approximately 4 km after Underberg. Riverbend Chalets is at the end of this road. The trip should take you more or less 3hrs - 270km.
